ASU Players Who Once Trashed Jayden Daniels Couldn’t Look Any More Dumb After Heisman Win

Jayden Daniels became the third player in LSU football history to win the Heisman Trophy on Saturday night. Although the Tigers lost three games — mostly because of their incompetence on defense — it was a blowout victory over Michael Penix, Bo Nix and Marvin Harrison Jr.

As a result, Daniels’ former Arizona State teammates look extremely dumb. They said that he “sucks anyway” when he left the program (almost) two years ago. That, clearly, is not the case!

Daniels had one of the best statistical seasons of all-time and accounted for 4,946 total yards of offense (3,812 passing yards, 1,134 rushing yards) and 50 total touchdowns. He was single-handedly responsible for multiple wins throughout the year. Even in loss, his numbers were ridiculous.

A four-star prospect out of Cajon High School in the college football recruiting Class of 2019, Daniels played three years for the Sun Devils before hitting the transfer portal. Things got nasty in Tempe at that point.

In a video filmed by defensive linemen Travez Moore, a group of Daniels’ former teammates gathered around his locker. They went through his personal belongings and trashed his space.

In the background, a voice that is presumably Moore’s can be heard saying:

Clean [his stuff] out. He’s out of this b—-. [He] sucked anyways.

That wasn’t quite the language that was used, with the real video including explicit words.

The reason for such unacceptable behavior likely stemmed from Daniels’ delayed decision to enter the portal. He decided to transfer in February. Maybe his teammates didn’t like that he led them on.

Whatever the reason, it was really ugly behavior. Moore and the group of players also couldn’t have been more wrong to say that he “sucks,” considering that he was just named as the best player in college football on Saturday night. Their opinion on Jayden Daniels, though likely skewed by some resentment toward his departure, was the exact opposite of reality!
