Jaylen Brown Explains Why He’s Sticking With Donda Sports After Kanye’s Anti-Semitic Remarks

Kanye West has used every opportunity he’s had in recent days to spew anti-semitic remarks. Any time he’s been given a microphone, whether it be an actual mic or a social media platform, Kanye has been repeating vile remarks about the Jewish people.

Consequences have actions. And Kanye’s now been dropped by German sneaker giant Adidas, a move that reportedly cost Adidas hundreds of millions of dollars. It was only a matter of time before every reputable business partner shunned Kanye West after he posted these remarks on Instagram and Twitter in early October:

“I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE. The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda,”

The world remains puzzled by any partners who have stuck with Kanye West throughout his anti-semitic tirades. And athletes who are repped by Kanye’s Donda Sports are now being questioned on why they’re sticking with Kanye.

TMZ Sports asked Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown about his relationship with Kanye’s Donda and here’s what he had to say:

“First, I don’t condone any hurt, harm, or danger toward any group of people or individuals whatsoever. The reason why I signed with Donda Sports, it represented education, it represented activism, disruption, it represented single-parent households, and a lot more people are involved in something like that.

According to TMZ Sports Jaylen added that his relationship with Kanye West is a “sensitive subject” but went on to say:

“He’s someone who’s obviously dealing with a lot of adversity that’s in front of him right now, and everybody can see it, and it’s public. But a lot of people in the world are dealing with adversity and things that are going on that’s in front of them, and they need help. It’s a lot going on right now.”

Donda Sports currently represents Jaylen Brown and Aaron Donald. Jaylen Brown was actually the first athlete signed by Donda Sports when he inked a contract back in May. Aaron Donald previously called his partnership with Donda Sports a ‘no-brainer’.

People in the sports world have been speculating for weeks on why Jaylen Brown hasn’t distanced himself from Kanye West after his anti-semitic remarks:

Jaylen has now made it clear that he will stay with Donda despite Kanye’s remarks. Referring to their relationship as a “sensitive subject” is more telling than not saying anything at all. I’m sure Brown will hear that from his fans in the coming days.

Update: Jaylen Brown backtracks, breaks ties with Donda Sports.

After taking a moment to reflect, as well as receiving some backlash on his initial decision to stick with Donda, Brown made the decision to cut ties. He tweeted the following message Tuesday evening.

Brown likely won’t be the only domino to fall with the sports and entertainment agency.
