During last night’s broadcast of game 4 between the Cavs and the Warriors, former Knicks coach and current NBA analyst Jeff Van Gundy dropped a gem of a story about how O.J. Simpson prolonged his famed “white Bronco” car chase because he wanted to hear the ending of game 5 of the Knicks-Rockets NBA finals series.
He waved him over and proceeded to tell him the story of why he was driving so slow was O.J. wanted to hear the end of the game on the radio before he pulled in,” Van Gundy said during ABC’s broadcast of Game 4. “When Coach Riley told us that story, I was mesmerized by what really goes on. Like I could just see him having a gun to his head and saying: ‘Turn up the radio, A.C., so I can hear the last few minutes.'”
Wonder if the juice had money on the Rockets or the Knicks that night.
