After some photos and videos of the uniforms leaked online, the New York Jets officially unveiled their “Jets Legacy White” uniform.
Set to be worn Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills and Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs, the throwback unis featured the Jets’ “Winged-J” logo, which they haven’t worn since 1997.
The “Jets Legacy White” uniforms are an homage to the New York Sack Exchange era, which was the team’s iconic defensive line of Mark Gastineau, Joe Klecko, Marty Lyons and Abdul Salaam from the early 1980s.

The Jets’ new uniforms won’t be the only shiny new toy that fans are excited about heading into the 2023 season, as the team also acquired future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a trade with the Green Bay Packers.
Despite having not qualified for the playoffs since the 2010 season — which is good for the longest postseason drought in the NFL — Rodgers’ arrival has made Gang Green Super Bowl contenders, at least according to the oddsmakers.
At this time, only the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers, and Dallas Cowboys have better odds to win the Super Bowl than the Jets.
As mentioned above, the Jets will be wearing their “Jets Legacy White” uniform for their first game of the season, which will be a Monday Night Football matchup at home against Josh Allen and the Bills on September 11.
The Jets have been wearing their current main uniforms since the 2019 season. Despite having some of the most recently-updated uniforms in the NFL, Gang Green’s look is also among the league’s worst, consistently ranking at or near the bottom of various articles and polls.
While the uniforms that the franchise wore from 1998-2018 were a bit better, they still never looked as good as the Jets Winged-J and kelly green combo, which they so obviously should go back to on a full-time basis.
