J.J. Watt announced via Twitter that he will be signing with the Arizona Cardinals. According to Ian Rapoport, the Cardinals are signing the defensive end to a two-year contract worth $31 million with $23 million guaranteed. The move comes as a major surprise as the Browns, Packers, Bills, and Steelers appeared to be frontrunners to land the five-time Pro Bowler.

Just prior to Watt’s announcement, some fans were convinced that the former Houston Texans star was sending out cryptic messages via his Peloton profile. The bio on the profile read “SB56…GB…CLE…BUF.” Watt was able to kill those rumors pretty fast by tweeting that he didn’t even own a bike.

This all comes after a cryptic tweet about biology Watt shared on February 23 that had Bills and Browns fans convinced he was going to sign with their favorite team.

Watt will be linking up with his former teammate DeAndre Hopkins in Arizona and seeing as how he certainly had plenty of suitors that wanted his signature, Watt has high hopes for the Cardinals moving forward. Arizona finished in a tie for fourth in total sacks a year ago with 48.

Watt appeared in 16 games for Houston last season recording 52 total tackles, five sacks, and two forced fumbles.
