It was a night of unfortunate injuries to key players during the Baltimore Ravens’ 34-20 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football. And, the biggest name among them was Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

Footage had surfaced of Burrow appearing to be wearing a wrist brace prior to the game, but he wasn’t listed on the injury report.

No, matter, as Burrow looked perfectly fine to start the game, and was effectively moving the ball for the Bengals offense.

And, whatever is going on with Burrow’s hand was re-aggravated in the first half on this play, non-contact. It looks so painful. Take a look.

Yikes, not good. Soon after, the Amazon Prime Video broadcast showed the superstar trying to throw a ball on the Bengals sideline, but he was unable to do it, and was once again in considerable pain. He went back to the locker room, and was replaced by Jake Browning. Soon after halftime, Joe Burrow was ruled out for the rest of the game.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, it’s a sprained wrist for Burrow, and he will get an MRI tomorrow.

‘Joe Burrow expected to get an MRI on his sprained wrist tomorrow, per source. Burrow declined comment from his locker while wearing a multi-layered wrap on his wrist Bengals players optimistic yet uncertain. Mike Hilton told me he doesn’t sense Burrow will miss the season,” he said.

Who knows how reliable Mike Hilton’s opinion is here, as I am not sure that the corner has much medical training.

This is quite clearly a huge loss for the Bengals if he has to miss extended time. He’s one of the best quarterbacks in the league. And, after a slow start due to a lingering calf injury, Burrow had caught fire and put the Bengals back into Super Bowl contender. But, after a loss last week to the Texans, and Thursday night’s loss to the Ravens, the team sits at 5-5 and the playoffs are very much in doubt, even if Burrow doesn’t miss any time. That seems unlikely, to be honest, given the schedule the Bengals have coming and the tight race in the AFC.
