Joe Burrow struggled to hold a football during Thursday night’s NFL game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens, which forced him to exit the game with a wrist injury. Did the team fail to report an issue with its quarterback?

‘Wrist-gate’ has begun.

Burrow was photographed and filmed arriving in Maryland on Wednesday afternoon. He was wearing some kind of glove on his right hand. His right hand is his throwing hand.

There were many theories as to why Joe Burrow might have been had the mysterious black glove on his hand. (I initially thought that it was for sketching on a tablet while on the team plane.)

Perhaps it was a compression glove or a brace. That seems like a real possibility after the in-game incident.

Burrow injured his right wrist on a non-contact play, which actually went for a touchdown.

He was ultimately unable to stay in the game after trying to throw a few passes on the sideline. Burrow could not grip the ball and screamed in frustration. Probably not good. Especially considering that it was super swollen.

How serious is Joe Burrow’s injury and how deep does it go?

Considering that the Bengals deleted the post of Burrow wearing a glove, there is now a lot more at play. It could spell trouble if the 26-year-old was injured prior to the game and the team did not report the injury. That is against NFL protocols.

Burrow went to the locker room with a wrist injury and it didn’t look great. He was ruled out. That is all we know as of this moment.

We need to know more about the glove and why the team deleted a social media post. We need to know more about the injury suffered on Thursday night, and if it was actually suffered on Thursday night.

However, should he miss significant time — or any time — a lot of different scenarios could unfold. ‘Hand-gate’ is officially a thing until more answers come out.

There could be league violations involved. Burrow not being on the field is bad for the team and bad for the league.

It’s all not great, and it could get worse.
