Crazy Stat About 38-Year-Old Joe Flacco Makes Steelers Look Terrible As Kenny Pickett Gets Sassy

Joe Flacco Kenny Pickett Steelers Touchdowns

Joe Flacco has played in just five games during the 2023 NFL season, which is seven less than Kenny Pickett. Despite the discrepancy in playing time, the former has out-played the latter — and the entire Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback room.

Joe Flacco, at age 38, signed with the Browns just before Thanksgiving after sitting on his couch all fall waiting for a call. He was elevated to the starting job on the first Sunday in December and has been awesome during this most recent stretch.

Cleveland is 4-1 with Flacco at the helm. The organization is headed to the NFL Playoffs after 17-point win over the Jets on Thursday night.

Browns fans chanted his name and warmed his heart after the victory. It was awesome.

Over the course of this five-game run, Flacco has completed 60.3% of his passes for 1,616 yards. Those numbers are not that far off from Pickett, who has completed 62% of his passes for 2,070 yards in more than double the amount of games.

There is one major discrepancy in the two quarterbacks’ stats and it’s a tough look for Pittsburgh.

Flacco has thrown 13 touchdowns this season. Pickett has thrown six. And it doesn’t stop there.

Mitchell Trubisky and Mason Rudolph have also played this year. They combined for six touchdowns in seven games.

Flacco has thrown more passing touchdowns in five games with the Browns than all of the Steelers quarterbacks all season. YIKES!

Kenny Pickett is clearly frustrated by the lack of offensive success and current quarterback situation. He has missed the last few weeks with an injury and was asked if he has learned anything while he is out.

To some extent, the truth is appreciated! And honestly, considering that he was 7-4 before getting injured, there wasn’t much more he could say.

Still, his sharp tongue may not be the best approach to the topic. Especially when an almost 40-year-old is out-scoring you in just five games.
