If you’ve been following Conor McGregor or Joe Rogan news lately you might have the impression that Joe isn’t so fond of the Notorious Irishman.

That is not the case at all. Rogan made it clear on a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience that Conor McGregor is nothing short of an “extraordinary human being.”

While speaking with Mark Boal, Joe Rogan began to effusively praise Conor McGregor and other UFC/MMA athletes. Rogan started by discussing how these athletes are ‘choosing’ to get into the Octagon, calling it a ‘total choice’. Pointing out that UFC athletes can quit at any moment but they choose to let the refs lock the game.

Joe Rogan then goes on to show Mark Boal a fight between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo after Boal admitted he wasn’t an MMA fan. Rogan talks about how everyone respects Aldo as “a f–king legend” and how everyone is terrified of him. And the lead-up to the fight was just Conor running his mouth with nonstop trash talk.

Conor took Aldo’s belt at a press conference. Was screaming at him. And really got inside Jose Aldo’s head. It’s this kind of person who can ‘rise above the pressure’ like Conor McGregor whom Joe Rogan believes is ‘truly an extraordinary person.

Conor McGregor’s 13-Second KO of Jose Aldo at UFC 194 in 2015

In case you missed it, that was from UFC 194 on December 12, 2015. It really is remarkable how that fight doesn’t seem like it was that long ago but it’s been over 7 years since that 13-second KO from Conor McGregor.

Joe Rogan’s point about Conor McGregor being ‘extraordinary’ is it really takes a unique individual to be able to stay relaxed as the pressure gets ratcheted up.
