John Wall is back on the Rockets, whether he likes it or not. The guard was heard openly trashing the organization earlier this year.

On Thursday, Houston picked Wall up in a three-team trade with the Clippers and Grizzlies. The internet is erupting with reaction upon seeing the deal.

The latest from NBA insider Shams Charania:

The Houston Rockets are acquiring John Wall in three-team deal with the Grizzlies and Clippers.

Wall was a member of the Rockets for parts of three seasons, though he only suited up for one. He was sidelined with injury during the 2019 season, then opted to sit out the entirety of the 2021 campaign. He played just 40 games in his three-year stint and became very vocal about the coaching staff’s decision to bring him off the bench for his final year.

That didn’t stop him from fleecing the organization by signing a $47 million player option last offseason.

Unhappy in Houston, Wall was traded to the Clippers before start of this year. In LA, he’s started three games, averaging 11.4 points per night.

John Wall’s disdain for the Rockets was on full display earlier this season as he openly trashed the team in a January interview.

When asked about his former employer, he had the following to say:

“Trash. Beyond trash.”

It was a split that seemed final with both sides growing increasingly frustrated with one another. Fast forward to February and Wall finds himself back in Houston.

Fans online are having some fun with that hilarious turn of events.

One fan wrote, “Boy I know John Wall HOT,” after hearing the news.

Another person said, “John Wall back in Houston hahahah.”

While the Rockets have acquired John Wall in this recent deal, it doesn’t look like he’ll be there long. Reports surfaced shortly after the trade that the team plans to waive him.

It was fun while it lasted.
