Jon Jones and Ciryl Gane are set to face off in the octagon on March 4. It should be a great fight, as they each stack up against each other nicely.
However, Gane turned some heads with his latest comments about his training habits. Now, Jones responds.
In a recent interview with La Sueur, Ciryl Gane revealed that he is actually “lazy” and doesn’t train when a fight isn’t scheduled.

Maybe there is some truth to that. Or maybe Gane is trying to get Jones to underestimate him ahead of their fight.
With that said, Jon Jones isn’t buying it for one second.
I smell a trap, either way doesn’t matter, I’m training my ass off https://t.co/CrvyXAwynM

That reaction is probably for the best. It’s always better to be safe than sorry. Especially considering how dangerous of a fighter Ciryl Gane is.
At the end of the day, this bout should be incredibly interesting, to say the least. Jon Jones is making his heavyweight debut after not fighting for three years.
Meanwhile, Ciryl Gane has been active as he’s been chasing after the heavyweight title since losing to Francis Ngannou in 2022.
So, maybe Gane is lazy when he’s not scheduled to fight somebody. Regardless, Jon Jones isn’t going to take his opponent lightly.
Look for things to heat up in the coming weeks as March 4 is right around the corner. With Jones returning to the cage, this is one of the most highly anticipated matchups in UFC history.
