The Jonas Brothers unexpectedly canceled a show just days before a concert date in Grand Forks, ND this week. The news came around the same time it was announced the pop group would make a guest appearance on College GameDay.
“Logistical issues” were cited as reasoning for the late cancellation of the November 17th show. It was set to be a part of their current ‘FIVE ALBUMS. ONE NIGHT’ tour.
“The Alerus Center has been informed that, due to logistical issues, Jonas Brothers’ show originally for November 17th has been postponed,” an email to a ticket holder read. “The show will be rescheduled for a future date in 2024.”
It was announced last week that the Jonas Brothers would be performing live to celebrate the college football pregame show’s 30 years on air. College GameDay will be on site in Harrisonburg, VA this Saturday to watch James Madison take on Appalachian State.
To help celebrate GameDay’s 30th season on the road, the Grammy Award-winning Jonas Brothers will perform live at James Madison along with Bailey Zimmerman. The group will make the debut performance of their latest single Strong Enough onsite with additional songs following the telecast and available to stream here.

With the postponement coming so close to the concert date, many online are reacting.

There are some JMU fans applauding the move, as it sticks it to supporters of a former FCS rival.

James Madison and NDSU faced off a couple of times in the FCS national championship game, with the Bison winning both. North Dakota State actually sent JMU to the FBS with a loss, beating the Dukes in the playoffs to end their ’21 season.
NDSU owns the all-time series advantage 4-1, so some Dukes are taking solace in the fact that the Jonas Brothers are spurning their North Dakota show in order to play on the JMU campus.
The band has not commented on the postponement to this point. A reschedule date in ’24 is expected to be released sometime down the road.
