Notre Dame wide receiver Jordan Faison sent his teammates into a frenzy during Sunday’s lacrosse game against Maryland. Yes, you read that correctly.

The 5-foot-11, 181-pound pass-catcher is a two-sport athlete. He also one of the best players for the reigning college lacrosse national champions!

His behind-the-back goal against the Terrapins was absolutely disgusting. The Fighting Irish football team, which showed out to Arlotta Family Stadium in support of their guy, agrees that it was nasty. They went bonkers when the ball hit the back of the net.

Lacrosse was actually supposed to be Faison’s best sport. It is now up for debate!

The two-star football recruit initially walked on to Marcus Freeman’s program. He received a partial scholarship from Kevin Corrigan.

That quickly changed after the injury bug hit Notre Dame football last fall.

Faison was thrust into action against Louisville on Oct. 7, 2023. His second-career catch was a 36-yard touchdown from Sam Hartman and he finished with 19 receptions for 322 yards and four touchdowns as a freshman.

To make his story even cooler, after beginning the year on the scout team, Jordan Faison was named MVP of the Sun Bowl after hauling in five catches for 115 yards and a touchdown.

Now, barely more than two months later, things have flipped!

Faison is on a full scholarship with the football program. He is also starting for the lacrosse team (now as a walk-on) who casually scored three goals in his debut and scored a filthy goal in front of his teammates.

Although Fighting Irish football players often show out to support other sports on campus, being able to watch their breakout wide receiver in his element makes it even cooler. Faison is one of very few two-sport athletes to play lacrosse and football on a high level. It has been done before, but not on this level!
