Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Jordan Mailata is a massive dude. He is 6-foot-8, 374 pounds and eats a lot of food, especially prior to game day.

His pregame meals are big enough to feed an entire village!

Mailata, who is actually a very talented vocalist when not mauling defensive linemen on the gridiron, recently joined The Dave Chang Show to discuss a variety of different things, including his diet. At his size, calories are relatively insignificant if not in mass. The 27-year-old burns them off at an astonishing rate and requires a very specific regimen just to keep his weight, let alone gain.

Come Saturday (or Wednesday if Philadelphia plays on Thursday), Mailata goes to work.

He eats the exact same dinner on the night prior to every game:

  • An entire box of bow-tie (farfalle) pasta with—
    • Shrimp
    • Rosé (pink) sauce
    • Spinach
    • Sun dried tomatoes
    • Garlic, salt/pepper, and chili flakes
  • A 20 oz. Steak
  • Three pieces of garlic bread
  • Sprite

In addition to his food intake, Mailata also gets an I.V. drip while he eats to stay hydrated.

Come morning, it’s time to eat again! The big left tackle dominates a pregame meal that is high in protein and carbs.

  • Eight egg omelette (four eggs, four egg whites) with—
    • Spinach
    • Mushrooms
    • Cheese
    • Avocado (sometimes)
  • Four-to-eight pancakes, depending on the size of the pancake
  • Orange juice

There is a unique dichotomy to Mailata’s meals. He eats what he eats because it is necessary, first and foremost, which can become monotonous. However, he does usually enjoy the food. Especially at home, where the Eagles’ staff does a great job.

Jordan Mailata once ate ramen in lieu of his normal pregame dinner and gave up a sack the next day. That was the last time that he did not eat the bow-tie pasta. Never again!
