Jordan Seaton, the top-ranked offensive lineman prospect in the college football recruiting Class of 2024, is officially signed to play for Deion Sanders at Colorado. The five-star recruit committed to the Buffaloes at the beginning of December but did not sign his Letter of Intent during the Early Signing Period.

There was some speculation that he might flip. Other programs were working hard to change his mind.

However, Jordan Seaton did not appreciate some of the things that they said. He said a few words about the contentious process during a media session at the Under Armour All-American game on Friday and shared some of the negative recruiting tactics.

One line in particular stood out as particularly off-putting.

This is the most famous one I got. It was like, “What do you want to be, a rapper or something?”

Yikes. There is a lot to unpack there, but whatever coach was responsible for said line should be ashamed. That’s a low blow.

Seaton did not reveal the schools that said what they said, which is probably for the best. He added that most of the negative recruiting targeted the brazen first-year head coach.

It was a lot of negative recruiting about (Deion Sanders). I felt like some people don’t understand that he’s only been there for about what, it’s been a year. The turnaround that the program had from 1-11, 4-8, to that is cool […]

You gotta take some time, Alabama wasn’t Bama in six months!

Here are his full comments:

Although Seaton ultimately ended up honoring his commitment to Colorado, there was a big last-minute push to try and get him to reconsider. Multiple programs, through their NIL collectives, offered him a lucrative compensatory package to flip. He didn’t.

Perhaps that is because Colorado offered equal or greater money. Perhaps that is because Seaton didn’t appreciate how the outside suitors approached the recruiting process.

Either way, Deion Sanders got himself the most-talented offensive lineman in the country, who is not a rapper. But with that being said, if Seaton wanted to be a rapper, what’s wrong with that?

Having one of the best Hog Mollies in the country hop on a track and spit some bars would be awesome. The Eagles offensive line recorded a Christmas album. Why can’t Seaton record a rap album?
