Jordan Spieth is making headlines this year at Augusta National Golf Club. The professional golf star went viral on Sunday due to an interaction with a fan at The Masters.

It was the second time in as many days he’d made waves with his audience. The most recent exchange was certainly the most lighthearted!

Spieth shot 73 on both his Thursday and Friday rounds. That was good enough to make the cut but kept him far down the leaderboard. On Saturday, he stormed back with a -3. It helped him slip into the Top 25, but he believes that positioning should’ve been better.

He blamed ‘mud balls’ for the subpar play in his first two rounds. He said the course negatively impacted his performance.

“My iron play killed me the last two days, and to be brutally honest with you, it was primarily mud balls. It’s just frustrating because you can’t talk about them here. You’re not supposed to talk about them.”

His improved play on Saturday has had a positive impact on his attitude. He seemed to pull a childhood prank on an unsuspecting fan at The Masters.

Jordan Spieth hit a Masters fan with his putter.

While making his way across the course, Spieth walked through the crowds of people on hand at Augusta National. After handing out a few high fives, he appeared to tap a fan below the belt with the end of his putter.

Viewers caught the act on the air. A debate on whether or not the tap was done on purpose soon followed. Did he know the fan? Was he a random target? What was the motivation if it was intentional? We may never know!

Jordan Spieth will wrap up his final round at The Masters on Sunday. Barring a late run, he’ll be out of contention for the green jacket. Still, he’s found a way to become a topic of conversation throughout the weekend.
