Superstar pitcher Jordy Frahm helped Nebraska punch its ticket to a Super Regional in college softball for the first time since 2013. She did so without her husband in the crowd because he was ejected.
Trey Frahm did not get to watch his wife close out the Regional victory against Oklahoma State.
As of this writing, an official reason for his ejection has not been provided. There are multiple theories for why he was removed from the college softball contest.
Who is Jordy Frahm?
Jordy Frahm, whose maiden name is Bahl, was the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2021 as the Gatorade National Player of the Year. The 5-foot-8 right-handed pitcher and utility infielder committed to Oklahoma out of high school and played two years in Norman. The Sooners won back-to-back national championships. Their ace posted a 44-2 record with 397 strikeouts and a 0.99 ERA in 288.2 innings and went 14-for-40 (.350) with two doubles, two walks, four stolen bases, nine RBIs and 13 runs scored.
However, the best player in college softball decided to transfer to Nebraska after her sophomore season. Bahl ruffled a lot of feathers with her decision but she just wanted to get back closer to home.
Unfortunately, the star transfer played only one game for the Huskers in 2024. Jordy Bahl tore her ACL during her debut. The season was over before it began. She made her triumphant return to the sport in early February of 2025 and immediately mashed a monster moonshot as a pitcher.
Nebraska went 43-15 last season and lost to Tennessee in the Super Regional in Knoxville. Bahl was named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s Player of the Year and the unanimous Joan Joyce Utility/Pitcher First-Team NFCA All-American. It was a historic season for the Huskers and their ace.
Jordy Bahl married former Nebraska baseball slugger Trey Frahm in August 2025.
She is now Jordy Frahm.
Why did her husband get ejected from the college softball Super Regional?
As I mentioned, we do not know exactly what led to the removal of Trey Frahm. There are multiple theories.
According to the ESPN broadcast, Jordy Frahm’s husband was ejected from the crowd with only three outs remaining in Nebraska’s Super Regional win over Oklahoma State. According to Maren Angus-Coombs of Softball On SI, her brothers also chose to leave the game voluntarily. They were not specifically thrown out of the game but they also exited the stadium with their brother-in-law.
All four of Jordy’s most animated supporters were sitting right behind the Cornhuskers dugout on the third baseline in red and white striped overalls. (Her husband is the one in the hat and sunglasses without a shirt underneath!)

One theory suggests that Trey Frahm was asked to leave the stadium because he threw a beer in the air when his wife struck out an Oklahoma State batter. Another theory suggests he (and her brothers) were barking at the Cowboys’ coaches from the crowd.
Perhaps it was a combination of both. Perhaps it was neither. We don’t know for sure.
This video apparently had something to do with it:

In the end, Jordy Frahm closed out the Super Regional with a strikeout to send Nebraska to the College World Series. She has allowed only one earned run on six hits with three walks and 31 strikeouts in 18 innings pitched during the 2026 NCAA Tournament.

Her husband was allowed back in the stadium to celebrate the victory.
Trey Frahm will join his wife and her brothers in Oklahoma City next week. Nebraska has a real shot to win a national title behind its superstar ace.
