Josh Gordon smoked his way onto arguably the greatest football franchise in history. Let it be a lesson to the kids–play by the rules and you end up like Tim Tebow smacking a baseball with the third best player from my high school team.
The 27-year-old Pro Bowler spent six-ish years with the Cleveland Browns before perceived “trust” issues led the league’s once most productive receiver to be released from the worst franchise in professional sports. Not to mention, the dude scored the team’s game-tying touchdown in their first non-loss since December 2016. Cold.
In 2013, Gordon had a mind-blowing 87 catches for a league-leading 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns in only 14 games, but since then has only playing in only 11 games since. The opportunity cost for the Patriots is relatively low, they gave up just a fifth-rounder and will get the pick back if Gordon doesn’t play. Not a bad deal for a team that is desperate for a vertical threat.
In any event, the announcement that Josh Gordon was heading to the Patriots came right after the 4:00 pm trade deadline today. That time: 4:20 pm. BRUH.

It’s poetic.
Just as the universe intended.
