Fox Sports 1 host Joy Taylor is one of the rising stars of the sports media industry.
Taylor, 36, is currently the co-host of Speak with LeSean McCoy and Emmanuel Acho and was formerly the news update anchor on The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
She’s also the younger sister of Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Miami Dolphins star Jason Taylor, whom she calls a big part of her life.
He’s obviously been a huge influence in my life and has a very intentional, great relationship with the media in Miami,” Taylor said in an interview with OSDB’s Stefan Bondy. He was always somebody that really respected what the beat writers and the media that they covered him did. So, he was greatly influential for me. But you also have to do the job and be willing to start at the ground level. … But yeah, Jason has obviously been a big part of my life and a big influence over my view of sports in general and how I cover sports.”
Taylor also takes pride in carving out a space for women in sports media.
“I think the business comes with a lot of different challenges. Being a woman, being a Black woman, being an opinionated woman. Wanting to be in a space where there aren’t a whole lot of women at all, but particularly women that look like me,” she said. “And insisting on that being my role I think has been the biggest challenge to get to where I am today now on a show where I’m equal to every man on the show. That was very important for me. And it was something that like I said, when I got into the business was my intention to do.
In addition to being huge popular on TV, she’s also extremely popular on social media. Taylor has over 626,000 followers on Instagram.
And it’s easy to see why.
Taylor’s latest viral post shows her on the beach sporting an eye-catching blue bikini. The post picked up over 50,000 likes and 1,500 comments in under 24 hours.
She then shared another picture early Saturday morning that is well on its way to going viral as well.
Taylor seems to be just scratching the surface of her stardom in sports media.
