To no surprise, Juan Soto has quickly become a fan favorite in New York. The Yankees backed up the Brinks truck to pay the 25-year-old slugger during the offseason and will hope to keep him in pinstripes for years to come.

In the meantime, he is expected to help take the Bronx Bombers to the next level.

There are high expectations for Soto to deliver. He was already a big deal in D.C. and San Diego but it is a completely different reality to be the star of the winningest franchise in MLB history. That’s next level.

Fans go bonkers as soon as Soto pokes his head out of the dugout.

The time of day does not matter. Everybody wants his autograph and will do whatever it takes to get it.

Fortunately, Soto is more than willing to oblige!

He might actually be too willing. Monday’s game in the Bronx was the perfect example.

Juan Soto literally signed a fan’s baseball in the middle of an inning. It was in between at-bats and the Marlins’ next hitter was walking from the dugout to the dish.

Nestor Cortez was halfway through his motion before Soto turned around and the ball was to the plate by the time that he was back in the ready position. Had a ball been hit to right field, it might have been an issue!

To actually catch a baseball and a sharpie, sign it, and return it to the fan in the middle of an inning is absolutely savage. I cannot say I have ever seen that before, though I could be wrong.

As a Yankees fan myself, I would greatly appreciate if Juan Soto would keep his head in the game… but no harm, no foul! Having such a massive superstar on the team and having him engage with the fans in such a manner is a really great thing as long as he delivers!
