Juwan Howard was slapped with a suspension just last month for punching an opposing coach following a Michigan loss to Wisconsin.

Thursday, his team did the exact same thing that got him so fired up.

Howard was suspended for the Wolverines’ final five regular season games. With the head coach off the sidelines, the team actually finished 3-2, doing just enough to slip into the NCAA Tournament.

Howard returned to the court briefly before being ousted in the first round of the Big Ten tournament last week.

Today, he made a second appearance since his suspension with Michigan taking on Colorado State in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

And he’s getting ripped online for his team’s doing the exact same thing that set him off in that regular season tantrum.

The reasoning Howard gave behind his thrown punch was the fact that Wisconsin called a late timeout while leading by double digits. He fails, however, to mention the part where his team was applying pressure defense against the Badgers’ backup players.

The coach called a timeout to avoid a turnover. It wasn’t some sort of disrespect to the Michigan team.

Well, guess what Michigan did today in the Wolverines’ tournament game?

If you said, ‘called a timeout with under a minute remaining to avoid a turnover with the team up by 11 points,’ then you’d be correct. And guess what Colorado State’s coaching staff didn’t do. Retaliate.

Social media is having a time with the interesting set of circumstances.
