You might not think the players who won a Super Bowl with the Chiefs last season would have much to complain about, but it appears the franchise has plenty of room for improvement across the board based on a report card that was issued by the NFLPA.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been the team to beat in the NFL since winning their first Super Bowl in 50 years in 2020, and they cemented their status as a dynasty by defending their title with a win over the 49ers in The Big Game this season.

As a result, Kansas City seemed like it would be a pretty attractive destination for guys in search of a ring (aside from the whole “being in Kansas City” thing). However, it would appear the Chiefs are dragging their feet when it comes to ensuring they’re providing its players with perks that match the team’s pedigree.

On Tuesday, the NFLPA released the results of the annual report cards it issues after surveying players about the accommodations provided by every team in the league; the primary focus is on the facilities, but it also gives them the chance to provide feedback concerning travel, staff, and ownership.

The Miami Dolphins were far and away the standout after receiving top marks across the board, while the Commanders (unsurprisingly) came in dead last despite the best efforts of its new ownership to wash off the stink that continues to linger in the wake of the Dan Snyder Era.

However, it’s pretty hard not to be surprised by the grades the Chiefs received, as they earned the second-worst overall ranking thanks to a report card that looks like this:

  • Treatment of Families: D+
  • Food/Cafeteria: C-
  • Nutritionist/Dietician: F
  • Locker Room: F
  • Training Room: D
  • Training Staff: F
  • Weight Room: C+
  • Strength Coaches: C+
  • Team Travel: F
  • Head Coach: A+
  • Ownership: F-

As you can see, Andy Reid was really the only major bright spot, and while the age of Arrowhead Stadium (which opened up in 1972) is probably a big factor in some of those grades, it also seems like the Chiefs aren’t splurging when it comes to hiring a satisfactory supporting staff (which could explain the abysmal grade ownership received).

At the end of the day, the franchise is obviously doing something right, but it can definitely be doing better.
