Oklahoma wide receiver LV Bunkley-Shelton showed impressive restraint as Kansas fans stormed the field following the massive college football upset on Saturday. He had every reason to cold-clock an obnoxious Jayhawks fan, but the redshirt junior chose to keep his head down and keep moving.

The Sooners traveled to Lawrence at 7-0, as the No. 6-ranked team in the country. They proceeded to lose their first game of the season by five.

As soon as the clock hit zero, the fans stormed onto the field. It made for incredible scenes as they tore down the goalposts, carried them out of the stadium, and threw them into the lake.

However, there is always a bad apple in every bunch. Saturday in Kansas was no different.

Storming the field is fun. Having a laugh or two at an opponentā€™s expense while he heads back to the locker room after defeat is harmless.

It becomes an issue when the fan gets too close to an opposing player. It is an even bigger issue if a fan makes contact with an opposing player.

Both of those things happened as the Jayhawks poured onto the field over the weekend.

A POV video posted by a man named Kit Avery-Kirksey on Instagram showed a fan throw an L right in the face of Bunkley-Shelton. Meanwhile, another fan puts his hand on the receiverā€™s shoulder pads in the background.

Nobody would have blamed Bunkley-Shelton if he had turned back and shoved the fan off of him, or even thrown a punch. Rather, there would have been a lot of angry amongst the ā€œholier than thouā€ folks, but a reaction would have been warranted.

Instead, Bunkley-Shelton showed impressive restraint. He did not react and keep things moving.

Shoutout to the Sooners for teaching their athletes how to act, even in defeat!
