The Dallas Cowboys took down rival Washington on Sunday, 34-26. One of their final touchdowns came thanks to an incredible individual effort from the team’s fastest player.

KaVontae Turpin fielded a kickoff after a Commanders score cut the Cowboys‘ lead to just three points in the fourth quarter. He wasted no time in extending that advantage once again!

After initially mishandling the kick, Turpin scooped the ball from the turf at the Dallas one-yard line. He then used a ridiculous spin move to evade a would-be tackler before showing off an incredible burst to fly past Washington defenders.

Once he saw a crease, he was gone! Turpin hit 21.35 MPH on that 99-yard return, seeming to reach his top speed in the blink of an eye. It was the third-fastest speed recorded on a kickoff return this season, according to Next Gen Stats.

KaVontae Turpin is one of the quickest players in the NFL, which he’s put on full display since entering the league back in 2022. Last week, he actually topped what was seen on Sunday with a 22.36 MPH top speed on a 64-yard touchdown reception against the Texans. He is FAST!

As it turned out, the Cowboys needed that late touchdown to beat the Commanders. While the kick return would put Dallas up by 10 points with just over two minutes to play, Washington found a way to make things interesting.

After tacking on a field goal, Jayden Daniels threw an 86-yard touchdown pass with 21 seconds remaining to give the Commanders a chance to tie. Unfortunately, they’d miss the ensuing extra point. Dallas later tacked on another special teams score, returning an onside kick to paydirt to make the final score 34-26.
