Kelly Stafford was in attendance at Ford Field for her husband’s Wild Card Weekend matchup against Matthew’s former team, the Detroit Lions. Matthew and Kelly Stafford were relentlessly booed by Lions fans, something that Kelly Stafford is accused of using to manufacture outrage as an audio clip resurfaced where she directly contradicts herself.

On her Instagram story, Kelly Stafford posted a screenshot of her family along with a comment from a fan saying “enough with Detroit love, they showed their true colors f them.” Kelly responded to that with a lengthy message which led to her being accused of using her kids to manufacture outrage after an audio clip resurfaced where Kelly herself directly contradicts what she’s claiming happened on Instagram.

On Instagram Stories, Kelly Stafford wrote “It’s sports. The city wants to win. Everything is fair game. Except for the fans that booed my children.” She went on to say more but the part about her children was intended to strike a nerve with many, as the children of athletes should 100% be off-limits from the jeers of opposing fans.

In a post from X, one user showed Kelly’s IG story along with the video below where Kelly Stafford says “and I know that my girls are not getting booed, I am.” She knows this.

Here’s the video, you’ll need the sound on to hear what she has to say:

Here is the moment Kelly Stafford says her daughters were booed despite saying she knows her daughters weren’t being booed and it was her getting booed:

Matt Stafford was Detroit’s QB from 2009 to 2020. He was the KING of the city. And both Matthew and Kelly Stafford were very kind in turn to the city through charitable work and getting involved in the community.

But it was Kelly Stafford’s social media activity that never sat well with a large portion of the Detroit Lions fanbase and the city of Detroit as a whole. This is precisely why it took all of two seconds for the Internet to find evidence of Kelly contradicting herself in an attempt to use her children to manufacture outrage and attention.

Kelly’s ‘The Morning After’ podcast is entertaining. She has an unfiltered style of speaking that translates really well to podcasting. But she had to know that Lions fans would dig up receipts on this, rigth?

And that’s not to say that Kelly Stafford is 100% wrong. She very well might have perceived Lions fans as having booed her children at some point throughout Wild Card Weekend. However, she’s in direct contradiction of herself having previously admitted she knows it’s nothing to do with her children and the fans are booing her (or her husband) and not her daughters. Not to mention, this all came days after a Matthew Stafford Lions jersey controversy.

Naturally, after Kelly’s Instagram post she began trending on X from Detroit Lions fans digging up those aforementioned receipts. Some Lions fans shared pretty unkind thoughts about Kelly Stafford while others had jokes like:

Is this the first time this has happened with Kelly Stafford? Well, let’s take a look at her comments from a while back:

Instead of acknowledging the Detroit Lions breaking their 32-year Playoffs win drought and moving on, she opted to share that information on her Instagram Stories. All she had to do was not post the screenshot of that comment and a message about Detroit and this is a non-story.
