Kevin Durant is one of the biggest names in sports, and he just signed a max deal with the Brooklyn Nets after going to three-straight NBA Finals’ with the Golden State Warriors, winning two championships in that span. So to say that the guy is on another level would be a bit of an understatement.
While Kevin Durant recovers from an unfortunate Achilles injury he sustained during this year’s NBA Finals, one would expect the superstar to try and keep a low profile while he slowly works himself back over the next year or so. Thing is, there’s social media, which, as we’ve seen plenty of times, never sleeps.
The latest example? Some female rapper named Kala Kalico, who calls out Durant for allegedly sliding into her DMs. Take a look below at a screengrab from Kalico of the apparent exchange with the NBA star, which she recently tweeted out.

Now, I’m no social media doctoring expert, but let’s not jump the gun on these being legit or not. Sure, the icon in the IG message is the same as Kevin Durant’s on Instagram, but the rapper doesn’t expose the entire message, showing who may have started the convo. Plus, she covers up any of the (potentially) juicy details with a graphic — so it’s hard to tell if these are fact or fiction.
Another thing is this: Kevin Durant is single, having broken up with Bay Area real estate agent Cassandra Anderson in October, so it’s not as if he’s cheating on anyone, that we know of. It’s just him shooting his shot on social media like all dudes have probably done at one point. Even if these are legit, it’s not like he’s sending DPs or anything super inappropriate, so it might just be a situation where Kala Kalico’s trying to get some extra attention from the superstar.
Whether this happened or not, it’s just another example of the power of social media, where people can either get exposed or get set up to be exposed. Kevin Durant’s probably got too much going on to respond to any of this, so, unless more comes out that really sheds more light on some dirty messages, this will probably just evaporate into thin air.
