NBA free agency doesn’t officially begin until Sunday but we’ve already seen plenty of twists and turns play out behind the scenes
Just yesterday, Lakers fans went nuts when it was revealed that Kawhi Leonard had requested to meet with Magic Johnson and Jeanie Buss while in L.A.
According to my guy @stephenasmith … Kawhi made a personal request to the Lakers that their free-agent meeting include only owner Jeanie Buss and their former team president Magic Johnson pic.twitter.com/E4ZQX3Rntr

Early this morning things changed when Adrian Wojnarowski dropped a bomb when he reported that Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant have had discussions about teaming up with each other either in L.A. or New York.
Reporting w/ @RamonaShelburne: Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard have been discussing free agent scenarios that could include a future with them playing together. For now, there are two clear possibilities for them to sign into the same franchise: Clippers and Knicks. Story soon.

Free agent stars Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard have been discussing scenarios that could include a future with them playing together, league sources told ESPN.
For now, there are two clear possibilities for the two All-NBA forwards to sign into the same franchise — the Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks.
Durant and Leonard are planning to talk with each of those teams once free agency opens Sunday at 6 PM ET, league sources said.
Leonard and Durant are each planning discussions and meetings with several teams, but only Clippers and Knicks are in alignment with salary cap space and common interest to sign both players. Brooklyn could conceivably house both, but a more likely scenario would be Durant and point guard Kyrie Irving signing as free agents with the Nets. Brooklyn is firmly Irving’s focus in free agency, league sources said.</blockquote
Knicks were immediately excited about the news considering they believed the team was getting shot down by free agents just a few days ago.
