Duke 7-Footer Kyle Filipowski Does His Best Grayson Allen Impression With Dirty Trip And Flop

Duke center Kyle Filipowski tripped a North Carolina player and proceeded to flop during Saturday’s college basketball game in Durham. It was reminiscent of the incidents that Grayson Allen often instigated while with the Blue Devils.

And of course the whole thing went down against the Tar Heels.

Filipowski is well acquainted with tripping. He saw his career flash before his eyes during a court storm at Wake Forest on Feb. 24 when a collision with a student left him with a gruesome injury and required him to be helped back into the locker room. Jay Bilas called for students to be arrested if they storm the court in wake of the terrifying incident.

If you watch the tape, there is definitive evidence that the student was to blame. There was absolute no reason to even consider that Filipowski was the one who initiated contact.

Fortunately, Filipowski’s ankle-turned-knee injury was only “a little bit sore” by the next game. It did not cause him to miss any time. Duke also had him on the floor against UNC.

However, they almost lost him for the season again in yet another horror-stricken moment during the first half. He limped off of the court!

On a more serious note, Filipowski stuck out his leg and tripped Harrison Ingram. Whether intentional or an accident, that happened.

You cannot watch that video and say that the Blue Devils’ big was not the initiator.

Ingram was fine. Filipowski pretended to stomp his shoes and walk off an injury.

It was déjà vu all over again!

Both programs involved with Saturday’s 262nd rivalry game are really good this year, as is usually the case. They were both ranked inside of the Top 10 at 24-6. They both have the talent to make a deep run in March Madness. Kyle Filipowski might the best player on either team (or R.J. Davis) but he will be the biggest villain in the tournament!
