Kyle Ford is back in the transfer portal and it is expected that his unique college football career is going to get even more strange. He might end up back at his old school after one year with its biggest rival.

That seems to be the consensus at this point.

Ford, a former five-star recruit in the Class of 2019, was considered one of the wide receivers in the country alongside guys like Garrett Wilson, George Pickens, Theo Wease, Puka Nacua and Jadon Haselwood. The Orange, California-native had 27 offers from schools all over the country but chose to stay close to home and committed to USC over Colorado, Oregon and Washington.

His time with the Trojans did not go quite as he planned.

Ford caught just one pass as a freshman, 19 for 252 yards as a sophomore and 20 for 365 yards as a junior. Playing time was an issue because USC’s wide receiver room was so deep, but it certainly did not help that the 6-foot-3, 220-pound pass-catcher never quite reached his full potential. Success was minimal during his first three seasons.

As a result, Kyle Ford hit the transfer portal for the first time after playing in USC’s spring game last year. He ultimately ended up at UCLA.

The Bruins, of course, are despised by the Trojans. The Crosstown Rivalry is one of the most famous in sports.

Ford’s decision to play for UCLA did not go over particularly well with the folks at USC. However, the latter better get back on board with their former receiver!

It appears as though Ford is going to return to South Central after just one season in Westwood.

He was at his soon-to-be future, and former team’s spring game over the weekend.

Ford caught 22 passes for 236 yards in his lone season with the Bruins. The Trojans need depth at his position and will be glad to welcome him back despite the unusual journey!
