The Los Angeles Lakers were just eliminated from the NBA Playoffs and there is already a ton of buzz surrounding the organization on what to do this offseason.
LeBron James got the basketball world stirring after hinting at retirement.
Meanwhile, trade rumors hover around the Lakers as the franchise aims to improve for a title run next year.
With that said, it sounds like LA might be in the running for a star point guard. Kyrie Irving rumors have been running rampant, but now a new name has popped up on the team’s radar.
According to Jovan Buha of The Athletic, “the Lakers have had ‘internal discussions’ about hypothetical summer trade proposals for Trae Young.”

Hypotheticals, rumors, speculations. They all relatively mean the same thing, don’t they?
Either way, the Lakers are likely going to be a major player this offseason in terms of making a trade, especially if they’re targeting someone like Trae Young.
Even so, it’s not clear whether or not Young is available via trade right now. The Atlanta Hawks may want to keep their star point guard.
It will be interesting to see how it all plays out for Trae Young though. If the Hawks decide to move on, the front office is sure to receive plenty of enticing offers.
But at the end of the day, this report indicates that the Lakers are going to ponder every possible scenario before making a decision. Which is just smart business.
With that said, keep an eye on the Lakers and Trae Young, as these trade rumors could become more legitimate later this summer.
