Lamar Jackson is good at football, in case you didn’t know that. The second-year man out of Louisville has all the weapons, but he’s most dangerous when he decides to tuck it and run which usually results in making players on the other side of the ball look like toddlers chasing a balloon.

Jackson picked up 86 yards on the ground on just eight attempts during Baltimore’s thrashing of the Jets on Thursday night which resulted in him breaking Michael Vick’s quarterback rushing record. Vick had 1,039 rushing yards for the Falcons back in 2006 while Jackson is now up to 1,103 yards through just 14 games this season.

It’s obviously a huge deal when any player breaks any type of all-time record and Jackson seemed both excited and grateful after snapping the record.

“It’s really cool, my favorite player growing up, Jackson told Pro Football Talk. It’s amazing and I’m going to cherish that forever and we just got to keep it going. Records are meant to be broken like he said and it’s really cool for me to do it.”

What a career it’s already been for Jackson. After plenty of NFL scouts thought he’d be best used in the NFL as a wide receiver he’s gone out and snapped Vick’s all-time rushing record, he’s got this year’s NFL MVP award practically stowed away in his locker already and his 33 passing touchdowns on the season has him tied with Vinny Testaverde for the most touchdown passes in a single season in Baltimore history.

Jackson has led the Ravens to 10 straight wins this season as they sit atop the AFC with a 12-2 record.
