Resorts World has had a rough year. Earlier this week, it was reported that the Las Vegas resort had lost a substantial amount of money in the past year and is now desperately trying to correct course.
According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, Resorts World has seen a 22 percent year-over-year decline in revenue and a 75 percent dip in earnings during the first quarter of this year. All in all, Resorts World has seen a $48 million decline in revenue from last year.
Las Vegas patrons have mocked Resorts World for the way they treat high-volume players.
In a recent viral video, a Resorts World waiter refused to comp a player playing $25k/hand in blackjack a $10 smoothie, which is pretty commonplace at most casinos.
A blackjack player betting $25,000 per hand at Resorts World was refused a comped strawberry banana smoothie because he didn't have a hotel room there. Bean counters, goofy algorithms, and incompetent casino executives are destroying Las Vegas. pic.twitter.com/h6UfOnUGyY

The viral video angered many Las Vegas regulars.
If im betting 25k a hand, they better drag some poor schmuck from the Jamba juice across the street and have them make that smoothie right at the table. https://t.co/JovCwWnqbN

Vegas is broken like everything else in this country. 25k a hand and no free drinks? What a joke. The city has totally lost the point of why they exist. https://t.co/rQxh9da6aC

Resorts World might want to change course if they want to attract high-rollers and stay in business.
Update: The Red Rock casino mocked the Resorts World on Twitter.
