LeBron James Had Very High Praise For Bill Belichick After He Almost Killed Him While He Sat Courtside

For those who watched last night’s Eastern Conference elite battle between the Cavaliers and the Celtics, odds are you were not disappointed. The East’s number 2 seeded team took down the conference leading Cavs by a score of 103-99 in a back-and-forth thriller that felt a lot like playoff basketball. Isaiah Thomas aka Mr. Fourth Quarter scored 31 points for the C’s, including a deep go-ahead triple down the stretch, stealing the headlines from LeBron James who earned his seventh triple-double of the season (28 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists).

The stars were out at Boston’s TD Garden, including hometown legend Bill Belichick and his girlfriend Linda Holliday sitting court side for the action. At one point in the fourth quarter, LeBron came very close to flattening Belichick but put on the e-brakes before any damage was done.

After the game, LeBron had high praise for the five-time Super Bowl winning coach.

“That’s why I slowed up,” James said after the game. “I definitely slowed up because I knew it was him. I’m not taking no legend out. I’m not doing that. I need to keep seeing him win. That’s pretty cool for me.”

Belichick was obviously thrilled with the compliment.

The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
