Fans Troll LeBron James After He Posts A Picture Of Him With DeMar DeRozan In The Drew League

LeBron James and DeMar DeRozan teamed up in the Drew League over the weekend as they hit the court during the NBA offseason. James posted a picture with the Bulls star, who averaged nearly 28 points per night in his first season in Chicago last year.

But had the ball bounced a bit differently, DeRozan might have been playing in Los Angeles. Rumors swirled last offseason that said DeRozan and James would team up on the Lakers as they looked to bring a championship back to LA.

Then, Russell Westbrook happened.

LeBron ultimately made the Lakers choose Westbrook over DeRozan, a story that was confirmed by Magic Johnson. Los Angeles had their eyes set on bringing DeRozan to the West Coast, and the interest was mutual. But James played GM and made a decision that, in hindsight, looks to be the wrong one.

So, when fans on social media saw the picture of the two stars playing together in the Drew League, they couldn’t help but troll James for his choice.

James will likely pair up with Westbrook once again in 2022 after the point guard signed his $47M player option. Los Angeles missed the playoffs last year, but the duo will look to get back to the postseason next spring.

DeRozan, meanwhile, will look to continue his success in Chicago after leading the Bulls to the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference. James can enjoy being his teammate for a few months more before the NBA season kicks off.
