It took approximately .34 seconds for clout chasers on the internet to make Delonte West’s rock bottom about that time(s) he may or may not have hooked up with LeBron’s mom during his Cleveland years.

Full disclosure, I couldn’t help but laugh at a couple takes, so if you laugh too I’ll see you in hell jerk.

New reports appear to indicate that LeBron is willing to put aside his rocky relationship with Delonte to get him the help he most desperately needs, whatever the cost.

LeBron James was reportedly heartbroken when hearing the news about Delonte West. LeBron told his business partner that he wants Delonte in Los Angeles, and that he will “spend whatever money it takes” to get his former teammate back on his feet.

LeBron isn’t the only one who is sending more than just thoughts and prayers.

Danny Ainge, the Celtics general manager who drafted the St. Joe’s star with the 24th pick of the 2004 draft, tried to help his troubled player by giving him a scouting job in recent years.

The NBPA helped facilitate his residence change from Dallas to Maryland in recent years and extensively supported him financially, as recently as this month, according to sources. Ainge and the Celtics have given him a scouting job to scout games in the D.C. and East Coast area, sources said, but West has had mixed results due to fluctuating attendance. His close friends and family have all stepped in whenever they could.

Ainge confirmed this report during an appearance on Boston’s Toucher and Rich radio show Thursday.

“Delonte has worked for us for a couple of years at times doing some scouting — college scouting — in the D.C. and Philly area, yes,” Ainge said.

“I’ve been in contact with Delonte over the last few years — since his career has ended, periodically, off and on,” Ainge said Thursday.

“But Delonte has obviously some troubles and some trials that he’s trying to deal with in his life, and I just hope that he can fix his life and get back on a good path.” “I know that the Players Association is probably the most appropriate one to be the head of whatever it is to try to get him back on track, and I think they’ve done a good job, and I know they’ve tried with Delonte,” he added. “I also know that he has a circle of people that he’s close with. I know that there’s lot of people that are praying and trying to do what they can to help.” [via NESN]

It’s been reported this week that Delonte is so hard to help because he seemingly doesn’t want to help himself. West’s former teammates, coaches, and team officials all run into the same problem–West agrees to a scheduled appointment and then cancels.

The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
