The Los Angeles Lakers are not a good basketball team. Everyone who is honest with themselves has known this for quite a while and now it sounds like LeBron James himself has come to that realization as well.

The Lakers fell to three games under .500 on Tuesday night with their 15-point loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. The loss was just the latest example that this Lakers team isn’t near championship-level.

Don’t just take mine and everyone else’s word for it though, take James’.

After the game, a reporter asked a clearly frustrated LeBron if he thought this Lakers team could get to the level of the Bucks. Instead of pumping up his team and saying yes, or sugarcoating his answer in some way, James straight up said no.

“Do I think we can reach the level where Milwaukee is right now? No,” James said. “They’re the defending champions for a reason. I guarantee if you would have asked teams coming out of the bubble if they could get to the level we were at when we won a championship, they would have said the same thing.

That sounds like a defeated LeBron James.

I think most can appreciate his honesty, but when does LeBron not ooze confidence in both himself and when talking about his teammates? You can even tell in the video that James is beyond fed up with the situation, one he pioneered by bringing Russell Westbrook and an old roster together in LA.

Everyone knows that this Lakers team doesn’t have it this year, they’re nowhere close, and that reality has sunk in for James.
