After dropping 20 points, dishing out 12 assists and grabbing 4 boards during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 121-96 dismantling of the Utah Jazz Wednesday night, LeBron James headed to the bench and, as he often does after games, proceeded to remove his shoes, autograph them, and give them to a couple of young Lakers fans.

So when he celebrated Kyle Kuzma’s back-to-back blocked shots by strolling on to the court in his socks, Jazz announcers Craig Bolerjack and Matt Harpring became very upset with what they felt was James being disrespectful.

Actually, this traveling non-call showed far more disrespect, but I digress.

“Look at LeBron, he’s on the court. With no shoes, mind you. What the heck is going on here? That’s some disrespect right there. Please,” said the salty Jazz commentators.

Thursday morning, James, who apparently got wind of what the Jazz announcing team said about him, fired off a lengthy Instagram post addressing the situation.

“Imagine doing your job at the highest level to where you’re not needed anymore, giving your shoes to a lil girl and boy who you inspire and hoped you made proud that night, then cheering on your teammates cause you love seeing them succeed more than yourself only to be criticized while doing it,” he wrote. “People it’s the world we live in and you can’t let it ever stop you from your purpose in life. Negativity, bad energy, hate, envy, etc etc will try to bring you down throughout your journey and it’s up to you on how you handle it. I handle it by simply saying ‘Thank You’ with a 😁 on my face and continue to push forward while doing it! LIVE.LAUGH.LOVE”

He right, you know. He could have behaved much worse. He could have been celebrating on the court, in his socks, while holding a plastic single-use water bottle. *shudder*
