Liberty Baseball’s Epic Uniform Reveal Video Helps Its Star Land NIL Deal

Last Friday, the Liberty University Flames baseball team went viral as millions of people watched their incredible uniform reveal video.

Following a popular TikTok trend and set to one of Celine Dion’s most popular songs, “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now,” Liberty’s uniform reveal video had the college baseball world in a frenzy. (And not just because Ole Miss fans got all salty about them looking like their uniforms.)

Even non-college baseball fans had to admit the video was very fun, especially the performance by the video’s star, senior relief pitcher Dylan Cumming, who it was said was chosen for the role in no small part due to his “good flow.”

After the video went viral, The Athletic caught up with both Cumming as well as Cassidy Paxton, a senior photographer and designer at Liberty University who was put in charge of creating the baseball team’s uniform reveal video.

Turns out, and you wouldn’t know it from watching the video, behind the scenes things were a little dicey. Wind, rain and a very loud leaf blower made things way more complicated that Paxton expected.

“It was honestly a disaster and it turned out perfect,” she told The Athletic.

Using Paxton’s only instructions, “Be as dramatic as possible,” Cumming went out and absolutely nailed it.

For his amazing performance, Cumming ended up netting himself a NIL deal from a local site, A Sea of Red, who started selling powder blue Liberty T-shirts with Cumming’s number 21 on it.

Oh, and that leaf blower that was used to accentuate Cumming’s majestic mane? It caused some issues during the shoot because it was so loud that Isaac Apon, the creative director for Liberty Athletics, had to sing the song as loud as he could just so the boys could stay on track while it was running.
