The Detroit Lions are looking to cap an incredible Cinderella story this NFL postseason with a Super Bowl victory in a few weeks. They’ll have to first get through the top-seeded 49ers in order to book that championship game ticket.

While a large portion of the football world will be rooting for the Lions to pull off the upset and continue on their playoff run, Detroit will have one major opposition – the sportsbooks.

A Lions Super Bowl win would hit Las Vegas hard as a number of future tickets could result in major payouts for bettors.

Still considered the longshot to win the title, Detroit sits at +700 to be crowned champs come season’s end. The rest of the field comes in at +350 or shorter.

While the Lions are considered the longest shot, they also boast the highest number of tickets placed according to BetMGM’s John Ewing.

Bettors are pulling for the underdog, and who wouldn’t!?

Given that Detroit’s odds double those of the Chiefs, triple those of the Ravens, and quadruple those of the 49ers, those future tickets would pay out handsomely should they finish out the storybook ending.

And for those who grabbed the Lions in the preseason at 25/1 or in the Wildcard round at 20/1, those payouts would be even higher.

Sportsbooks want the clock to strike 12 on Detroit’s playoff run in hopes of avoiding a loss. For those that love the underdog story, they’ll be backing the team that recently ended a 32-year postseason losing skid.

The Lions have a chance to make both viewers and sports bettors very happy over the next two games.
