To put it mildly, the San Francisco Giants have had a very frustrating season thus far. The team is 38-54 under new manager Tony Vitello, 22 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers, and it isn’t even the All-Star break yet.

The season has been so bad that the Giants have had to deal with the Department of Justice, and former team legends like Will Clark are piling on.

So it is understandable that Giants pitcher Logan Webb, who has struggled to a 5-7 record despite a decent 3.86 ERA and an excellent WHIP of 1.16, wasn’t thrilled after he gave up five runs in the first inning on Wednesday against the Toronto Blue Jays in yet another loss.

All of which might explain why Logan Webb decided to hop on social media after the game and rip fans and media who were complaining about the team’s performance.

It appears that it all got started when KNBR reporter Jack Loder criticized the Giants’ current situation, citing a “talent void,” a “leadership void,” and players who appeared “checked out.”

“When someone is supposed to be your ace, you think that they’re going to give you the best chance to win every week,” Loder said. “Logan Webb had an awesome June, he was bad in April, he missed most of May. I’ve said over the years that he’s been a great Giant, like I’ve really appreciated his Giants tenure. But there’s always been a little bit lacking.”

A little over an hour later, Webb commented on the video, writing, “You know what’s sad is they allow people like you in the locker room.”

Webb then went after a KNBR staffer about how long it took Webb to reply after Loder shared the pitcher’s response on his timeline. Additionally, when KNBR presenter Adam Copeland commented with a joke, Webb replied by asking, “Who are you?”

Later, when a fan deemed his responses “embarrassing,” Webb wondered whether they were paid by KNBR. Then, when another user criticized the team, Webb replied, “Honestly you probably don’t know anything about anything some loser on the couch that couldn’t make his little league team.”

By the end of the day, Logan Webb had deleted his X account.

Unfortunately for him, most of his interaction with fans and the media was preserved on Reddit.
