Lorenzo Hunt’s Goal Is To Become BKFC’s First Three-Division Champ But First He Has To Beat Quentin Henry At BKFC 30

BKFC’s Lorenzo Hunt has some lofty goals in mind.

On Saturday, October 1st, Hunt, the current BKFC 185-pound champion, will face off against Quentin Henry for the promotion’s vacant 205-pound title at BKFC 30 at the Fant-Ewing arena in Monroe, Louisiana.

We sat down with Hunt earlier this to get his thoughts about the fight.

Back in June, Henry called out Hunt after he knocked out Sawyer Depee at BKFC Jackson 2.

Hunt scoffed at Henry’s callout and feels like Henry is only a stepping stone for him before he decides to move up to heavyweight full-time.

“I am the top. I am the number one contender in the 205. I already beat the 205 champ. Quentin Henry has been under me as long as he’s been in this organization. He did not call me out. I’m the champ. There’s nowhere else to go. He didn’t demand this. He doesn’t have a choice. There’s nowhere else to go. I’m the lord over the division he’s in. I’m the lord over the division beneath him. There’s nowhere to go And I’m coming to heavyweight, so he has to fight me. Might as well get it out the way.

At BKFC 26, Hunt got into a heated altercation with 185-pound contender Mike “The Marine” Richman, who he called a “crab” trying to jump on his bandwagon just to get noticed.

“Mike Richman is just a crab. He’s someone trying to jump on the bandwagon of the most explosive, most dominant fighter in BKFC. He’s been here for three fights. I’m currently 8-1, and he hasn’t even got noticed until he said my name. So it’s easy to see what’s happening here. You got the whole BKFC roster calling out one name. That literally means I’m the top of the pile. They’re no threat to me. They’re just saying my name so that they can be considered with the greatest.”

Hunt’s ultimate goal is to win the 205-pound title by beating Henry and move up to heavyweight to become a three-division champ.

“I will be the first three-division champ. It is not hubris that I have these goals. It has always been a plan to work my way up the rankings and to work my way up the ladder and to eventually become the heavyweight champ. 185 is not an easy way for me to make. 205 is not the end game for me. I desire to be the heavyweight champ. So all the rest of it is just a pageantry.”

BKFC 30 will air live on the BKFC TV app Saturday October 1st.
