Everyone knows about the legendary tailgating scene in Baton Rogue, Louisiana for LSU games. The fans in Death Valley can drink with the best of them, and the high number of night games seem to help.

But, they care a lot about college baseball in the south, as well. And, Tiger fans have flocked to Omaha, Nebraska, where their team is just one win away from winning the College World Series.

Take a look at the incredible amount of Jell-o shots they have consumed.

That is a ridiculous amount. And, LSU has brought their tailgating traditions to Omaha as well. One of those is eating alligator. Here is USA Today with more details.

“What does a father whose son is playing for LSU in the Men’s College Baseball World Series do before traveling to Nebraska to watch the Tigers take on Florida?

Bring a Louisiana gator to smoke, of course.

According to The Advocate photojournalist Hilary Scheinuk, Rodney Beloso, father of LSU designated hitter Cade Beloso, tailgated ahead of Sunday’s Game 2 in Omaha, Nebraska with a 25-pound gator on the grill. Scheinuk shared a short video on her Twitter account that showed Rodney Beloso opening the grill to show off the neatly-placed reptile, which is not so coincidentally the mascot of the team his son is facing.”

What makes it even better is that they’re playing the Florida Gators in the best-of-three finals.

Here is a picture of said cooked gator.

Sadly, it was the Gators doing the cooking on the field on Sunday. They beat LSU by a whopping margin of 24-4, forcing a winner-take-all game on Monday night.
