Mattress Mack has placed his latest big bet, and it centers around a prominent NFL team. The sports bettor is hoping to win more than $1M this postseason on the Dallas Cowboys.
It’s no surprise to see Mack put his hard-earned money down on a team from the Lone Star State. He’s thrown massive amounts of cash on the University of Houston, TCU, the Astros, and the Mavericks in the past.
But it’s his reasoning behind putting this latest wager in that has many talking.
Mattress Mack recently landed a historic payout with Houston winning the World Series. He’s hoping to parlay that income into a few more paydays over the coming months. His prediction on the national championship game didn’t work out as he lost over $3M on the Horned Frogs, but maybe the NFL will treat him better.
A $200K bet on Dallas at +625 odds to win the NFC could land the bettor a near $1.5M bag. When asked about the wager, he said he “dreamed the Cowboys won three straight and hopes his dream comes true.”
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that his followers have too much faith in the bet. Fans were quick to bash the bettor for his latest pick on social media.
One person wrote, “They’re literally losing tonight.” Dallas squares off against Tom Brady and the Bucs in the wildcard round of the playoffs.
Another fan commented, “All that money he won on the Astros is about to be gone.”
The Cowboys aren’t necessarily a long shot to win the conference, but teams like Philadelphia and San Francisco boast better odds at the books. Dallas hasn’t made an NFC title game since winning it all in the 1995 season.
Mattress Mack hopes those fortunes change over the next few weeks. If so, he’ll enjoy another hefty payday.
