Do not adjust your screen. You are not having a stroke. And yes, you did read that correctly.

Miami Hurricanes tight end Cam McCormick announced Thursday that will return to college next season for his NINTH YEAR of college football.

McCormick was a three-star recruit in the class of 2016 (!!!) according 247Sports. Others in that class include Jalen Hurts, Nick Bosa and Rashan Gary. He was in the same recruiting class at Oregon as Los Angeles Chargers starting QB Justin Herbert. Herbert just completed his fourth NFL season

McCormick began his career with the Ducks before transferring to the Hurricanes prior to the 2023 season.

For his career, McCormick has 26 receptions for 231 yards and four touchdowns. He will be 26 years old by the time his college football career (presumably) comes to an end.

Now, some of you may say ‘that is far too many years of college football.’

But if someone offered you a job in Miami with zero living expenses and free food, you’re not turning it down either.

Is it a bit of a grift? Sure. But game recognize game.

McCormick filed an official petition with the NCAA to play a ninth season of college football all the way back in September. Clearly it was approved.

Should Miami make some sort of magical run, McCormick could be a college football player across an entire decade, from 2016-2025.

When McCormick steps on to a field in September, it will literally be a man amongst boys compared to some of the players across the field from him.

Meanwhile, the NCAA just struck down a sixth-year waiver for former Maryland and Alabama quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa.

Make it make sense!

All we know is that Cam McCormick is back. Again. And the Miami Hurricanes will clearly benefit from his -erm- senior (citizen) leadership.
