Fans created chants for the Atlanta outfielder while on defense. He acknowledged his supporters throughout the contest. At one point, he tossed a ball into the stands.
The cheering continued each time he came to the dish. Fans were hanging on every pitch. It was a sight to see given the typically mum atmosphere of a midweek regular season MLB contest.
Harris showed out for his followers, knocking in a run during the eighth inning of a 5-1 win.
After the game, he ran back onto the field to thank the fans. In an incredibly wholesome exchange, he swapped his game-worn hat for a fan’s jersey.

This is just one many instances of international soccer fans taking in the sights and sounds of major sporting events in the US.
Maybe the most notable response came in Connecticut where Norwegians showed up in full force to root Viktor Hovland to victory at the Travelers Championship.
Michael Harris II appreciated the love received in Atlanta. Unfortunately, his international fanbase is likely on its way out of town. England’s next matchup set to be played in Mexico. It was certainly fun while it lasted.
