Staples Center was filled with Lakers fans, celebrities and NBA greats on Monday for Kobe Bryant’s celebration of life service. The real superstars among the crowd, however, were Vanessa Bryant and the rest of the Bryant family.
Vanessa took the stage receiving a standing ovation before delivering an extremely emotional and powerful eulogy remembering her 13-year-old daughter Gianna and her late husband. She spoke on Gianna’s WNBA dream, her handmade cards, her ‘sweet kisses’ and the love she had for her daughter. She also talked about losing her husband and the ‘MVD’, the most valuable dad.
Following her speech, Vanessa made her way off stage and was greeted by Michael Jordan who was there to help her down the steps.

It’s a simple gesture, sure, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a powerful one. Jordan helping Vanessa down the steps just seconds after she delivered a touching speech about losing her husband and a daughter to the entire world delivered quite the moment.
