Michigan State fans trolled rival Michigan in their recent rivalry game. While the two teams were competing on the hardwood, fans jabbed at the Wolverines for a loss on the gridiron.

Michigan recently lost a College Football Playoff matchup against TCU. It was the program’s second straight season that ended with a loss in the CFP semifinals.

Last year, that defeat came at the hands of champion Georgia. This year’s loss was more unexpected as the Wolverines were favored by more than a touchdown over the Horned Frogs. Things have gone from bad to worse for the football program as rumors are now swirling about head coach Jim Harbaugh leaving for an NFL gig.

So, to throw a little salt in the wound, Michigan State fans reminded their archrivals of that devastating defeat during the latest rivalry game.

The Spartans hosted the Wolverines on Saturday, and a number of attendees donned both MSU and TCU gear.

Clips of the Michigan State fans quickly went viral causing a stir on social media. Here’s what people were saying about the troll job.

One Wolverines fan said, “This is sad little brother type of stuff.” It seems to have struck a nerve.

Another person wrote, “Didn’t want to wear their bowl shirt? Weird.” The Spartans missed the postseason in 2022.

Other Michigan fans simply posted the score from the football matchup, which the Wolverines won 29-7. Others reminded Michigan State fans of their lone CFP appearance where they were bounced in the first round by Alabama in a 38-0 loss.

As for this particular game, the Spartans got the best of the Wolverines in a 59-53 victory. The Spartans and Wolverines are now in a four-way tie atop the Big Ten standings.
