Mick Foley Shares Amazing Pic Of Legendary Hell In A Cell Match And Admits The Undertaker Thought He Killed Him

Seventeen years ago tonight, WWE superstars Mankind and The Undertaker wrestled a Hell in a Cell match that will be discussed, dissected and recounted by everyone involved for years.

Mick Foley, the man behind the mask, shared a photo of the event on Facebook today that few fans have ever seen. The photo, taken high above the cell, shows The Undertaker looking down at his opponent moments after he crashed through the roof of the cage onto the mat. Foley also shared a personal anecdote about the Dead Man that he learned about after the match was over.

Imagine being The Undertaker, in the middle of the match of a lifetime, looking down from high above as medics and staff tended to Foley’s limp frame. The only possible thought racing through his brain something along the lines of “HOLY FUCK I JUST KILLED THE GUY!” His second thought probably something like “it’s probably best if I never come down.”

Obviously, Foley survived and as he said in the photo caption “his career and life both changed dramatically that night.”
