Mikal Bridges has now started 556 consecutive NBA games. The New York Knicks forward kept that streak alive with a six-second appearance on Sunday.
The Knicks hosted the Nets in the 2025 regular season finale. Having already locked up a playoff spot, they opted to rest starters and avoid injury.
Bridges was the lone starter listed in the opening lineup. His time on the court was as brief as could possibly be.
On New York’s first defensive possession, he fouled Brooklyn guard Tyrese Martin. He then headed to the bench where he’d stay the remainder of the contest.
Mikal Bridges started, committed a foul, and checked out after 6 seconds just so he could keep up his streak of games played 😭

Mikal Bridges played only six seconds. He benched himself after just one play. It still goes down as a start to continue his “iron man” streak that’s spanned more than six years.
His replacement, Landry Shamet, filled in admirably. He scored a game-high 29 points on 9-of-17 shooting. That included seven three-pointers.
The Knicks didn’t miss Bridges one bit. Shamet led New York to a 113-105 win. One gambler won because of the starter’s short stint, too.
NBA bettor cashes in on Mikal Bridges parlay.
The wager included unders on each of the forward’s main statistical outputs. Sportsbooks didn’t expect Bridges to hit the bench so quickly.
The four-leg parlay had an under on points (9.5), rebounds (2.5), assists (2.5) and made threes (1.5). He did not record a single stat outside of his one personal foul.
Mikal Bridges started, fouled, then checked out to keep his streak of games played alive (556)…
And one bettor cashed in on it 😂

Bridges started the game, which helped the bettor cash in. The odds for the parlay sat at +353. The gambler is probably wishing they’d put more than $50 on the action. Still, they’ll gladly take the $226 payout.
