The Oklahoma State Cowboys fell to the Wisconsin Badgers 24-17 in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl on Tuesday night.
Ok St was getting blown out for most of the game, trailing 24-7 going into the 4th quarter, but put up 10 points to make it a close game when the final whistle blew.
After the game, Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy was asked by a reporter if he would be making any staffing changes in the offseason. The situation immediately turned contentious.
Gundy threatened to revoke the reporter’s media credentials and told ‘don’t be an a–‘ while the reporter tried to explain he was simply doing his job. Here’s that exchange:
The ending of Mike Gundy’s press conference got extra frosty when he was asked about the potential of making any staff changes.

Mike Gundy fired back “Do you think I would tell you about staff changes?” to which the reporter responded ‘no’. This is a pivotal moment in the exchange because had the reporter said ‘yes’ he could’ve explained how this is a commonly asked question for head coaches coming off lackluster seasons. Instead, Gundy prodded the reporter with ‘then why would you ask?’ and began to bully the reporter for doing his job.
The replies to their heated exchange on Twitter are revealing. One person wrote “So in short.. the answer is yes” implying that Gundy will certainly make changes.
Some are wondering ‘where was that passion in the game?’
Death, taxes, and Coach Gundy getting more fired up in his press conferences than he does during the games…

The question was perfectly acceptable:
Good Lord, @CoachGundy the team starts 6-1, then collapses to finish 7-6 and you threaten to cut a reporter out because he did his job and asked about staff changes when the whole fanbase knows they have to happen? Give me a break.
